Perhaps all art is a form of medicine, or an opportunity to see a reflection of what moves us to heal. Maia creates art with the specific intention to heal, awaken, inspire and empower its viewers and participants. She has spent the last 16+ years immersed in the rich fabric of the lives and teachings of the North and South American indigenous populations and feels deeply connected to the sacred and soulful ways in which they express, share, heal, commune, celebrate and honor the sacred in all. Maia’s regular healing practice, workshops and ceremonies all inspire her with visions for her art and she feels that her art is a bridge that can connect others to the thread of the sacred in all things. Her art has been commissioned to help to raise consiousness in corporations, build community and bless the walls of a shamanic yoga studio and infuse intentions and natures imagery into a popular yoga lifestyle line of clothing. Maias shares her medicine art through a variety of forms: imprinted clothing, murals, drawings, paintings, sculputure, shamanic tools, and performances.
