PACHA: earth, worlds, duality, cosmos MAIA: mother, magic, illusion
Maia believes that we all have the ability to feel, see, sense and hear with more than just our five senses. Most of us were turned away from these natural ways at an early age so that we could "survive in our culture." This way of sensing, Maia believes is the true "normal" and it is Maia's intention to guide others back into remembering their true selves, back into their sacred hearts. She believes that it is through experiences that we learn best and shed the untruths we have come to believe about ourselves. She is here as a guidepost of light and love, to share that life on earth is a duality, that there is no one way to do things, humor can heal, we are all seers and inutitives, that suffering or "friction" helps us to grow and that our wounds, scars and shadows are often our biggest teachers.
From a very early age, Maia has been able to sense that all things have a spirit and that we are connected to everything. She would often hear pacha mama's (mother earths) voice, have visions and sense energy blocks in others. Maia's Eastern European ancestors have influenced her lifes path and DNA by providing her with rich creativity, art and imagination, folly and play, yoga, a love of science and engineering and a profound respect and connection to nature and all it's creatures. Maia has studied western medicine, archeology, womens history, quantum physics, massage, yoga and indigenous/shamanic healing. This marriage of practices and studies over the past 20+ years have become the foundation for her readings, sessions and workshops.
Her teaching, practices and studies have taken her from yoga studios in Chicago, to ashrams in the Bahamas and Massachusetts. She has travelled deep into the Amazon and through the mountains and valleys of Peru. Maia keeps her practices alive by regularly attending sweat lodges and indigenous ceremonies.
She has brought her skills to work for amazing clients like Hazelden Treatment Centers, the American Hospital Association, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and The Jaguar Path.
